SmartInspection
SmartInspect is a cloud-based AI application designed for automated visual inspections.
It's a very simple idea and possibly in the future something like this will be natively supported by cloud storage services.
About the project
SmartInspect is a cloud-based AI application designed for automated visual inspections. It enables users to upload batches of images (e.g., building, electrical, vehicle, food) and leverages advanced AI Vision models to detect defects, check compliance against standards, and generate structured findings.
SmartInspect was born out of another one of our implementations from last year, PrintPatterns. In PrintPatterns, we analysed thousands of Fabric Patterns and made it searchable using garment-industry keyword knowledge. I gave a presentation of that use case at AWS re:Invent 2024.

For SmartInspect, we took a rather generic approach. We used a mix of Industry Knowledge like Compliance, Past Reports, Applicable Industry Standards with Modern Vision Models to generate context and then use it to generate findings. We also added a lot of features to make it more user-friendly.
